On Sunday, November 22nd, 1970, the 1970 NASCAR Cup Series season concluded with Bobby Isaac defeating Bobby Allison by 51 points to win the 22nd championship in Cup Series history. It was the first (and only) Cup Series championship for Isaac. These are the top five points finishers for the season.

The 1970 Daytona 500 was won by Pete Hamilton, while David Pearson led the most laps with 82.

5. #06 Neil Castles (-753 points)

Castles got the fifth spot with 12 top-fives and 24 top-10s, along with an average finish of 13.7.

4. #43 Richard Petty (-464)

Petty picked up fourth on the strength of 18 wins, 27 top-fives and 31 top-10s in just 40 starts for an average finish of 6.8. Petty also led the most laps in 20 races.

3. #48 James Hylton (-123)

Hylton got third as he had one victory, 22 top-fives and 39 top-10s, claiming an average finish of 8.1.

2. #22 Bobby Allison (-51)

Allison claimed the second spot with three victories, 30 top-fives and 35 top-10s, getting an average finish of 6.8. Allison also led the most laps in two races.

1. #71 Bobby Isaac

Isaac took home the championship with 11 wins, 32 top-fives and 38 top-10s, getting an average finish of 6.8. Isaac led the most laps in 11 races during the season as well.
